About Us

Midway was founded in 1965 by members of our community who loved to gather, have fun, and show their horses in a family-friendly and community-based environment. That tradition continues today with added variety of classes and all age groups represented. Our non-profit status continues to allow us to serve the community through giving back each year, which has only grown with the club.

In 2019, Midway began responding to changing needs in our community by adding more variety of classes and levels offered at each show. Beginning in 2020 that continued with the addition of jumping classes. Starting in 2023 we expanded further to include two sessions of the show: a hunter session in the morning and an a flat/open session in the afternoon. We are so excited to grow with the community around us and provide an economical, safe, and fun place to bring your horse. 

Midway prides itself on being a great entry-level opportunity for those new to showing while also honoring those who have ridden with us at a high level for many years. The unique combination of ages, stages, and styles allows for a rich community that supports the love of showing our horses in all the different ways we have connected with them. We have responded to this growth by offering more comparable pay to judges who are qualified and experienced in all the disciplines we now include in the show. Additionally, we have expanded our Year-End High Point eligibility to all members in good standing…with super fun prizes, of course!
 

The Club operates as a non-profit organization for the benefit of the members, and relies heavily on a spirit of volunteerism to keep the club running smoothly. Please contact an officer for information on how to become a volunteer!

 In the early 2000's the Club began to extend its hand to members of our community by collecting canned goods to support local food banks, sending cards to shut-ins, and buying Christmas presents for elderly living at Chestnut Ridge. 

 Recently, Midway Saddle Club has been donating our community fund to local charitable organizations to help kids and families in our community in need.
